Healthy Snacks
Everyone loves snacks! Children especially love snacks throughout the day, when they come home from school, or after they are done playing. Though you don't want to eat snacks that are bad for you and contain chemicals and harmful ingredients to you or your child's health. So many food items are filled with harmful ingredients and most of the snacks you can grab off the grocery store shelf are hazardous for your health. It is easy to grab boxes of individually packaged snacks, especially because they are generally pretty inexpensive. Unfortunately the downside is that they are not healthy at all, so let me give you some healthy snack options that I have personally made and love!
Sweet Snacks
-Fruit is always a good snack that will help with your sugar cravings! Getting organic fruits are always better for you too.
-This next snack is not my creation, but it is so good! You will need:
- Dates
- Organic peanut butter
- No sugar added chocolate
- Peanuts
- Green or Black tea sweetened with honey or MonkFruit sugar
- Poppi
- Olipop
- And of course, water
If the dates aren't pitted, pit them and then add peanut butter in the middle. Then melt the chocolate, dip the dates into the chocolate, and sprinkle some crushed peanuts on top. Cool them in the fridge until the choloate is melting, and then you have a delicious, sweet snack that resembles a snickers bar!
Savory Snacks
-A quick and easy snack that I like is celery with a little bit of cream cheese and a sprinkle of Everything but the bagel seasoning!
-One of my favorite savory snacks to make is edamame. I buy the frozen bags, microwave them, and add some seasonings to them. I usually add some garlic powder, ginger powder, red pepper flakes, and some soy sauce. It is delicious and filling.
